Summer is the perfect time to focus on the 5k distance, a shorter term goal that can pay dividends before heading into an autumn training block for longer distance. With plenty of 5k summer races and club events, alongside weekly parkruns it is a fantastic time to try and improve over the distance. The summer series plan has been designed as a supportive plan for those not wanting fully personalised coaching but still wanting to target a goal with more help, guidance and support than a standard online plan
Beginner 5k
For those wanting to return to running consistently, or build up regular running and would like to run a strong goal 5k at the end.
Four runs per week with the option of three.
One speed specific session per week.

Improver 5k
For those already running regularly and can run 45 minutes+. Looking to improve 5k time over the course of the block.
Five runs per week with the option of four.
Multiple weekly speed sessions.
